The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and there are no ads here.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the digest, we keep the email address you enter. If you add a business, claim a listing, or submit an event, we keep what you put in the form, including your name and email so we can follow up.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and check the box to get the weekly text, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing texts from The Bastrop Passport, about one a week. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop the texts, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or consent with anyone for their own marketing.

Your Passport progress, the stamps and trails you have collected, lives in your own browser on your own device. We never see it and we cannot.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, and we do not run ads.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used, like which pages people visit and roughly where visitors come from. To do that, Google sets cookies and collects usage and device information tied to a random ID, not your name. We use this only to make the guide better. You can read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out across every site with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Who touches the data

Like most websites, we use outside services for hosting, data storage, email delivery, and analytics (Google Analytics). Your information passes through them only so the site can work, and they are not permitted to use it for anything else.

Kids

The site is for a general audience and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

Your choices

To stop the weekly email, reply to any issue or email howdy@bastroppassport.com and we will take you off the list. To stop the weekly text, reply STOP to any message. If you want anything we hold about you corrected or deleted, email howdy@bastroppassport.com and we will take care of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
