Lives in Bastrop County and runs Lost Pines Local with his wife, Arielle. Reads every story before it goes out.
The Bastrop Passport is a guide to Bastrop County: what’s on this weekend, who played Friday night, what just opened, and the places worth knowing. It goes out as one email every Thursday, and this site keeps the rest.
How it gets made
Events come from the people hosting them, the library and city calendars, and the organizers’ own pages. Sports scores come from the school districts and public game reports, and every score links to where it came from. Around the county items link to the district, city or paper that reported them first.
We use software to help gather and sort all of that, and a person reads everything before it goes on the site. When a story carries a name, that person read it and stands behind it.
What’s for sale and what isn’t
Getting listed is free. Businesses can pay for a Showcase listing, which gets more room and is always marked. Our picks and the stories we write are never for sale. When we write about a business that also works with Lost Pines Local, we say so on the story.
Something wrong?
A wrong score, old hours, a place that closed: email howdy@bastroppassport.com and we’ll fix it. Run a business in the area? Add it to the guide. Hosting something? Add your event.
The site is made by Lost Pines Local, here in Bastrop.
